Teaching My Humans to Hunt

So I decided today was the day to teach my humans how to hunt.  I have to say they weren't very good at it.  I brought a bird in the house and let it go.  I kept catching it and picking it up with my mouth to show them what to do.  What did my daddy do?  Open the door and let it back out.  I was shocked!  I went outside to catch it again, but it was no where to be found.  Since I felt sorry for them, I brought a dead vole back around dinnertime.  Maybe I misjudged their readiness.

Here's some picks of me literally bathing in the sun this afternoon:

  3. How very rude of your humans not to try and learn the basics of hunting birds and mice Lily. We are sure you were giving up your valuable nap time in the effort to educate them in its finer points. Our Mum is just the same and we have given up hope of her ever being able to feed herself for free!

  4. Too funny Lily. Nice try to teach those silly hooomans to hunt for that bird. The nerve of the Dad to just let it out the door. What is the matter with him?? Hope all of you have a great week end.

As for teaching your humans...waste of time !
They do NOT seem to like their food live :/

  6. Humans are SO incredibly dense. CC brought a live dove in for Mommy to finish off and she SCREAMED until she shooed it out!
And yes, there was dove poop everywhere.

  7. Humans are so unappreciative of everything we do for them. Just give up trying to teach them anything, Lily.

  9. Lily, don't waste your time turning to teach your beans to hunt. They are pathetic! And they don't have the right built in tools to do it. Just enjoy hunting yourself! When you are done with it, leave it for them.

  10. Sam, Zorro and BelloApril 2, 2012 at 5:17 PM

We try and teach our mum all the time! Sam brings her flutterbys, starting small you understand, and Zorro brought her a dove and ripped its chest open and nommed the soft bits and what did mum do? she wouldn't look till he was finished and then she put it in the "special cupboard" outside. sometimes we wonder how full that cupboard must be by now...and how will she know the best bits to eat if she doesn't watch and learn? Bello brought her lizards and still, no delight! Pf! Sometimes we think there's no hope for her...

  12. Yes, most humans are such poor hunters. Let the birds and squirrels escape. They definitely need more training.
